Kick off meeting in Montpellier

EU research partners have begun work on HEPHAESTUS, an exciting autonomous robot system designed to erect curtain walls.

The research project which formally kicked off in Montpellier, France, on 24/01/2017, will focus on an innovative cable-driven robot and a modular, multi-tool end-effector kit, able to work on vertical and high-incline surfaces. In addition to building work, the robot will also be able to perform inspection, maintenance, repairs, and subsequent cleaning of the curtain wall.
The project involves nine partners from the UK, Spain, France, Norway, Italy and Germany and will complete in June 2020.
